My official bio: Candy is the owner/operator of OffAssist and brings to it a background heavily steeped in bookkeeping for small to mid-sized businesses. She grew up near Charleston, SC and spent several years in Honolulu, HI before moving to Austin, TX in 1998. OffAssist began as a concept in 1999 and officially opened its doors in 2002. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her two children. Candy credits her success to her amazing family and friends, who have stood by her while growing OffAssist into what it is today. Candy served on the Board of Directors of the International Virtual Assistants Association from 2005 to 2008 in a variety of roles: Historian, Vice-President, and President.
Blah, Blah, Blah…
Who I am… really: I’m just an average 30-something virtual assistant. I’m just like you. I sleep too little, eat too much, complain about my kids, worry about the mortgage, and dream of the day I can retire in style. I argue with my husband (and make up with him!). I have days when I want to chuck it all and go be a fry cook.
I also consider myself a very lucky woman. I do have wonderful family, wonderful friends, wonderful neighbors. I have a support system that is unparalleled, not only by other VAs, but in my personal life as well. I like to laugh, have a margarita with my best girlfriends, and stay up late talking to my husband about what things will be like 10 years from now.
I am, well, I’m just me.
